El presente Seminario de TĆtulo tiene como objetivo comprender los significados que construyen las familias acerca la participaciĆ³n ocupacional de los hijos en situaciĆ³n de discapacidad, que estudien en universidades estatales o privadas como ubicadas en las comunas de ValparaĆso y ViƱa del Mar. La importancia del anĆ”lisis de la informaciĆ³n recabada radica en conocer los significados de las familias como primer agente de socializaciĆ³n y por ende el cĆ³mo influyen en la toma de decisiones de sus integrantes, decisiones que estĆ”n influenciadas a partir de la cultura en la cual se encuentran inmersos basĆ”ndose en la articulaciĆ³n de teorĆas como; de los significados de K.Gergen y Vigotsky desde perspectivas mĆ”s sociales, y el desarrollo de conceptos como el de ocupaciĆ³n y participaciĆ³n social, familia: como primer agente de socializaciĆ³n, discapacidad y sus cambios paulatinos en la perspectivas. Dentro de los resultados obtenidos se observa que los significados que surgen en relaciĆ³n a la participaciĆ³n ocupacional del hijo en la educaciĆ³n superior, tienen en comĆŗn una connotaciĆ³n en base a las construcciones sociales que se ha hecho de discapacidad cognitiva y sensorial. Existe ademĆ”s una relaciĆ³n entre los significados que las entrevistadas construyen por expectativas que tienen hacia el futuro de sus hijos. Por otro lado, hacen menciĆ³n a la experiencia educacional que han vivido los padres con hijos que estĆ”n estudiando en el diploma de habilidades laborales como en carreras universitarias, existiendo una diferenciaciĆ³n clara en estos dos funcionamientos universitarios.
The main goal of this research is to understand the meanings that familiesā build around occupational participation of children with disabilities, who study in public or private universities located in Valparaiso and Vina del Mar cities. The importance of this analysis lies on knowing the meaning of families as they are the first socialization agent and so how they influence in taking decisions for their members, decisions which are taken upon the culture they are immerse in. Based on theories articulation like those made by K. Gergen or Vigotsky, from more social perspectives, and the develop of concepts like occupation and social participation, which defines the family, as the first socialization agent, disability and their gradual changes in perspectives. Among the results, we are able to see that the meanings that rise around occupational participation of children in higher education, all of them have in common a connotation based upon social constructions for cognitive and sensory disabilities. Also, there is a relation between the concepts that the interviewed builds upon the future aspirations for their children. In the other hand, they make reference to the experience they have lived both in labour skills and university careers, thus making a clear difference between those two university functioning.
