The techniques of concrete paving repair, known as RPH are a group of maintainance and/or restoration activities of both structural and functional conditions of paving that may present a decay situation. This paper describes the causes and effects of the main types of concrete paving decay produced in Chile, classified as simple concrete paving with joints (JPCP) without the presence of devices for cargo transfer. Among national paving decay we can find crack scaling and transversal joints, transversal and comer slab cracking and others that may cause surface roughness excess according to the lnternational Roughness lndex IRI. These decay forms have been thoroughly analysed within the framework of the Concrete Paving Monitoring Program driven by the Road Management and IDIEM. A compilation of the constructive technical backgrounds indicating critica! points, circumstances, opportunity and sequence of the application of concrete paving repair techniques is then presented, that is to say, the technically appropriate option to be considered in accordance with the policies of preservation in the systems of road management in Chile The results and analysis of the national experiences in which the insertion of bars for cargo transfer, sub base injection and pavement planning RPH techniques have been applied , obtained satisfactory results in regards to the reestablishment of structural and functional conditions of treated pavement, proving that the above mentioned constitute a real alternative when implementing a road treatment plan.
