This investigation came from the interest to optimize the efficiency of the Retarder Plasticizer additive, which is used during the production process of Ready-mixed Concrete, in order to add a larger amount of resistant, physical, chemical and/or physical-chemical properties to the concrete, as a product. The extent and scope is oriented to work with additives Retarder Plasticizers, classified by the Standard Chilean NCh 2182 Of. 1995 additives such as Type D. In order to determine the time, manner and sequence of more optimal load that should be incorporated into the Retarder Plasticizer additive to the mix, there will be testing to obtain accurate results. These tests will include measurement and subsequent comparison of docility and mechanical resistance to compression between the mixed-up test. Results from the tests show that using Retarder Plasticizers the additive impact in three ways into the mass of the concrete Allows a reduction of water amassed in the concrete of the order of 4 and 8% without affecting the workability and consistency of the mixture The additive effect creates a dispersant on the grains of cement. This effect causes it to separate grains of cement, allowing it to better hydration of the same. Allows reduce the speed of chemical reaction between the cement and water by delaying the onset of hardening leading to better hydration of cement crystals constituent process that is manifested in a direct resistance in the final of the concrete.
