An analysis of the variations of Gonadosomatic Index (IGS) in Fissurella maxima was done and also was made a record of the accumulate temperatures, as an evaluation method of the maturity stage of the organisms. As a result, it was observed two reproductive cycles (July-November and December-February), establishing Effective Accumulative Temperatures of 1507, 13°Cday and 951,37°C-day, for the maximum periods of maturity m each reproductive cycle (November 1999 and February 2000). The reproductive response of Fissurella maxima, to the application of Thermic shock (an increase of 5°C), hydrogen peroxide injected in 3mM solution and both inductors, was analyzed. The results showed that only spawned males of Fissurella maxima, who were stimulated with thermic shock, it was discussed in terms to define the basses to establish an protocol for the spawning induction, focus on the future development of the culture of this species. Financed by the DI/01 A-98 project of the Research Direction of Andrés Bello University.
