This research was conducted in the Curacautín town, which is placed in the andean foothills of the La Araucanía region (IX region). Curacautín is a compound Word that comes from the mapudungun language, formed by "Cura" and "Cahuín" and it means ''Meeting Stone". This town is placed at 1 02 km from Temuco and its surface is 1.664 km2 , which makes it one ofthe biggest towns in the area. It has a large number ofnatural and cultural resources as volcanoes, cascade and gaps, endemic flora and fatma, and it is inhabited by one of the most important originating peoples of Chile, the Mapuche people. Nowadays, Curacautín is part of a new project which recovers and stands out the geological and geomorphologic resources of the area through "Geoparks", in which the natural resources are put in value and it also benefits socio-economically to the surrounding towns through the "Geoturism". This research is about proposmg new tourist circuits based on the geological and geomorphologic resources of Curacautín . To achieve these proposals it is necessary to set the natural features of the area, then set the attractives (geological sites), evaluate their tourism potential and finally, develop the proposal of tourist circuits that put in value the legacy of the "Geopark".
