Both in Chile and abroad there are only a few programs available that try to evaluate and promote reading fluency, since it is not considered a relevant element when extracting the meaning of a text. Even so, over time, the results in standardized tests of the Education Measurement System are still low (SIMCE, 2016) presenting various challenges to achieve an improvement in this area. Taking these antecedents into account, a methodological intervention program was designed with the purpose of enhancing and improving reading fluency skills from its three components (precision, rate and prosody) which was carried out in a period of one month, dividing the components by days and weeks. The study was done with a sample of 56 students divided into two groups: an advanced group (read from kindergarten) and a descended group (they are in the process of learning to read) who attend First Grade from a private school of the metropolitan region.
