Las placas de fibrosilicato consisten en láminas de silicato cálcico hidratado, sometidas
a autoclave y reforzadas con fibras especiales que las hacen excepcionalmente
estables ante el fuego y otras condiciones extremas. Su particular característica de
pertenecer a la familia de los refractarios le permite trabajar a temperaturas de 1200 ºC.
En esta investigación se presenta un estudio sobre la efectividad de las placas de
fibrosilicato. Se analizan dos placas de fibrosilicato hechas por una empresa nacional,
fabricadas con métodos diferentes. Ambas están compuestas de fibrosilicatos sin
asbesto, las más pesada es Promatect ® -H y la Promatect ® -L, es más ligera.
Los sistemas constructivos de protección pasiva contra el fuego son ensayados y
certificados en un laboratorio oficial de acuerdo a la NCh. 935/1 Of. 97.
Esta norma oficial tiene por objeto establecer las condiciones de ensayos y los criterios
que permitan determinar la resistencia al fuego de los elementos de construcción en
general, verticales u horizontales excluidas puertas y ventanas.
La resistencia al fuego del elemento ensayado a tamaño normal se mide por el tiempo
durante el cual este conserva su estabilidad mecánica, la estanqueidad a las llamas, el
aislamiento térmico y la no emisión de gases inflamables.
The plates of fibrosilicatos consist of sheets of silicate calcico hydrated, submitted to autokey and reinforced with special fibers that make them exceptionally stable before the fire and other extreme conditions. His individual characteristic of belonging to the family of the refractoy ones allows him to work to temperatures of 1200 °C. In this investigation one presents a study on the efficiency of the plates of fibrosilicato. Two plates are analyzed of fibrosilicato done by a domestic enterprise, made with different methods. Both are composed of fibrosilicatos without asbestos, the heavier it is Promatect 0- H and the Promatect - L is lighter. The constructive systems of passive protection against the fire are tested and certificates in an official laboratory of agreement to the NCh 935/1 Of 97. This official norm has for object established the conditions of test and criteria that allow determining the resistance to the fire of the construction in general, vertical or horizontal excluded doors and windows. The resistance to the fire of the element tested to normal size measures up in the time during wich this one preserves his mechanical stability, the estanqueidad to the flames, the thermal isolation and not erosion of inflammable gases.
