Abstract
En esta memoria lo que se pretende analizar es la causa por la cual Chile, siendo un país forestal, no ha llegado a ser un país maderero en el área de la construcción de viviendas de los distintos sectores socioeconómicos de la zona central.
Se dan a conocer causas, por parte de los organismos involucrados en el área de la construcción y por el usuario final, por los cuales el consumo de madera está estancado, sobre todo, al momento de la elección del material para construir la primera vivienda, es decir, la vivienda definitiva.
The main objective to be analyzed on this thesis is the cause by which Chile, being a forest country, has not become a highly wood-consumer country at the area of houses construction in different socioeconomic groups of the central zone. On this investigation the causes by which the wood consumption on houses construction is stuck are presented, mainly, at time to choose material to build the first house, it means, the definitive house. These causes presented here were extracted from institutions involved in the area of construction and from the end user testimony.
