Education has played an important role in culture, economic and social development of any country through the world. Therefore, in a globalized world our country must not be far or indifferent to those issues which are related to educational changes. Chilean Educational politics recognize the needs for implementing new ways of initial and permanent teachers' training. According to these ideas, remarkable changes have been introduced. In addition it is expected that progress will come to the learning - teaching process.
The impact and effects on teachers and their perspective that foreign scholarship program gives, is the main axis in this study.
The specific aim of this study is to explore and describe, according to teachers' opinions the real impact that the program has had on them and their perceptions about the whole program on their students.
o achieve the objective a questionnaire was designed to collect information about different dimensions that were considered relevant to this study. Teachers of English from different parts of Chile, that participated in this program, were asked about lheir perceptions and experience obtained.
Another objective is to present the degree of teachers' satisfaction with the program and the relationship that it has with the Good Teaching Framework: GTF (Marco Para la Buena Enseñanza).
The Good Teaching Framework was created by Chilean Ministry of Education taking into account the experience of teachers in the classrooms. On the other hand, it describes in a measurable way what teachers mus! know, must know to do and how well teachers are doing their work as professionals. The GTF has four domains which are described below.
The study, gave as a result a positive impact in all different dimensions, level of teachers' satisfaction and the impact on their students according to their own perspective.
The results of this research might be useful as theoretical support far !hose professionals who think and agree with teachers' training abroad or in national universities as well. On !he other hand, !hose who are more skeptical would be able to tace empirical data and achievement gained from the study.
