Resumen
This article explores the development of chemical skills in Santiago de Chile through the judicial experts that participated in poisoning cases between 1831 and 1897. It aims to identify these experts and to investigate their relationship with certain knowledges -specifically pharmacy and toxicology-, in order to connect their work and disciplinary experience, with the conformation of their judicial expertise. Additionally, the study focusses on the relationship between science and the State, from the particular perspective of the judicial apparatus.
