Resumen
Esta investigación tiene como finalidad aportar una sólida base teórica y elementos
pedagógicos que permitan evidenciar la importancia de los estilos de aprendizaje en
la enseñanza del inglés como idioma extranjero.
En el proceso de aprendizaje, en el que intervienen diversos factores como la
percepción, la interacción, la respuesta y la motivación, es importante considerar
cómo se enseña, es decir, los docentes deben estar actualizados con las nuevas
tecnologías y también con el estado del conocimiento en su área de experticia. Por
otro lado, también es fundamental considerar la manera en que los estudiantes 1
aprenden, es decir, los procesos cognitivos y psicológicos que están presentes al
momento de emprender la desafiante tarea de aprender.
Consideramos que es nuestra responsabilidad, como profesores de inglés, estar
conscientes de las diferentes formas que los estudiantes útilizan para aprender
durante el proceso de la adquisición del idioma inglés, de tal manera que esto pueda
constituir un factor determinante para el logro de los objetivos que se fijaron al
comienzo del proceso de enseñanza- aprendizaje.
This study has as a main purpose to provide solid theoretical basis and pedagogical elements that can evidence the importance of learning styles in the teaching of English as a foreign language. Within any process of learning, we deal with different factors such as perception, interaction, motivation. lt is important to consider, on the one hand how things are taught , for example , teachers should update themselves with the new technologies available as well as with the field of their expertise. On the other hand, it is also important to keep in mind the way our students learn, that is to say, the cognitive and psychological processes present at the moment of learning. We reckon it is our responsibility as teachers of English language, to be aware of the various ways students use during the process of learning a foreign language, so that it could become a determining factor in achieving most of the objectives set out at the beginning of the teaching- learning process.
