Concrete joints appear on all concrete constructions; these eventS happen either involuntarily or as a planned event. Disregarding the way that these appear, it must be taken into account that a concrete joint it's a risk point to all structures, since this risk can develop into a problem that can result in the loss of the superficial termination, low mechanical resistance or in future liquid infiltration. These problems will generate additional costs in repairs that will lower the quality of the final product. This study pretends to analyze these problems, and also study procedures and materials that can reduce or remove these risks. To this end, tests of compression and waterproofing tests were conducted, which were later compared to a control sample that presented no joints at all. Among the procedures used for the treatment of the analyzed joints were: the use of a superficial delayer, installation of a bentonitic cord, application of a epoxy adhesive bridge, severing and washing of the joint, and to have a contrast point, a concrete joint without treatment was executed.
