El documento lleva como título “Análisis de la Sustentabilidad de la Pesca Recreativa en el Chile Actual”. Para poder entender cuál es el estado de esta actividad en Chile, fue necesario compararlo con otro país de características y condiciones similares al nuestro, pero con una tradición en este deporte mucho mayor; hablamos de Nueva Zelanda, país líder en el desarrollo del Ecoturismo y una nación ya industrializada, estado que Chile busca alcanzar. La comparación se basó en torno a cuatro ejes centrales presentes en cada país; los primeros pasos de la actividad, la legislación y normativa vigente, la situación actual del rubro y la situación medio ambiental ligada a la pesca recreativa. Con la investigación de estos cuatro ejes se logró obtener importante información para la elaboración de cuadros comparativos entre los dos países, para luego con la información arrojada por los cuadros, generar diferentes recomendaciones y directrices en busca de mejorar los avances ya logrados en torno a un desarrollo sustentable de esta actividad en nuestro país. Con las recomendaciones elaboradas, se concluyó que Chile vive un panorama muy optimista para el desarrollo sustentable de la pesca recreativa, esto, gracias a diferentes factores naturales, sociales y económicos entre otros y a la reciente creación de la Ley de Pesca Recreativa la que ha aumentado el interés por la práctica y protección de esta actividad. Sin embargo se advierte que aún existen diversas debilidades que ponen en riesgo el desarrollo de esta disciplina, las que pueden ser mejoradas existiendo un intenso trabajo en conjunto con el sector público y privado. Se entregan también conclusiones objetivas que hablan de un desarrollo de la actividad armoniosa con el medio ambiente, fuertemente ligado al ecoturismo en donde es posible que todos los actores perciban los beneficios que esta actividad entrega.This work is a requirement to apply to the degree of Manager in Ecotourism granted by the “Universidad Nacional Andres Bello”. The document is called “Analysis of the Sustainability of Recreational Fishing in Chile”. To understand the state of this activity in Chile, it was necessary to compare it with another country of similar conditions and characteristics, but with a bigger tradition in this sport. We are talking about New Zealand, leading country in the development of Ecotourism, and a Nation already industrialized. This is a condition that Chile seeks to attain. The comparison was based on four central themes that are presents in both countries: Initial steps of the activity, legislation and current regulations, present situation of the recreational fishing field, and environmental situation related to recreational fishing. With the investigation of these four central themes we gathered important information to elaborate several comparative tables between the two countries. With this information, we can generate different recommendations and guidelines to improvement the developments that have already been made in the sustainable development of this activity in our country. With the development of the guidelines we concluded that Chile owns a very optimistic scenery for the sustainable development of recreational fishing. This is due to different natural, social and economic factors amongst others, supported by the recent application of the “Recreational Fishing Law” that has increased the interest on the practice and protection of fishing as a whole. Nevertheless, it is possible to observe that there are several weaknesses that endanger the development of this discipline. Only an intensive team-work between public and private sector can collaborate to overcome these weaknesses. We also provide objective conclusion that fishing is to be developed in harmony with the environment and strongly linked to Ecotourism, thus allowing an active participation of all incumbent parties so that all may benefit actively from this activity.esEcoturismoPesca RecreativaDesarrollo SustentableChileTesis
