Los artefactos que utilizan como combustible a estos gases, en el interior de los recintos, son calefón convencional, calefón de tiro balanceado, calefón de tiro forzado, cocinas estufas, hornos. Estos pueden o no estar conectados a sistemas de evacuación de gases producto de la combustión y de admisión de aire comburente. Todas las instalaciones de gas y sistemas de evacuación de productos de la combustión son inspeccionadas por el Inspector Certificador (SEC), el que analiza a través de una metodología de inspección, las instalaciones existentes, con el resultado que sea aceptada, pendiente o rechazada. Los materiales utilizados tradicionalmente en la construcción de duetos primarios está dada por la práctica habitual en edificios en construcción. Estos materiales utilizados en el dueto primario, deben tener las siguientes características: resistencia al fuego, estanqueidad resistencia a la humedad y a la corrosión, de acuerdo a lo indicado en dicho reglamento. El diseño y dimensión de los duetos primarios, están dados por parámetros, los cuales están definidos en el reglamento de instalaciones de gas. Esta memoria analiza las principales causas de rechazo de las instalaciones en edificios existentes y se hacen sugerencias para solucionar los problemas detectados. En la última parte de la memoria, se discute la reglamentación, recomendando cambios que se deben hacer para mejorar las formas de control y las prácticas de construcción, para Clarificar lo relativo al uso de materiales de manera de evitar juicios subjetivos sobre el particular.The common gases frequently used in all buildings are basically two: liquified gas and natural gas.
