El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad determinar si existe asociación entre los estadios de maduración vertebral y las etapas de maduración de la sutura media palatina. Se realizó el análisis de 79 telerradiografías y CBCT de pacientes entre 9-20 años en las cuales se determinó el estadio de maduración vertebral de Baccetti y la etapa de maduración de la sutura media palatina. Se obtuvo como resultado que existe asociación moderada entre los estadios de maduración de las vértebras cervicales y las etapas de maduración de la sutura media palatina con un coeficiente de correlación Gamma para variables ordinales: 0,564 (p-valor <0,05)The maturation of the cervical vertebrae can be used to identify the degree of ossification of the midpalatal suture, avoiding exposing the patient to additional radiation;since it is evaluated by means of a teleradiography that is a routine examination in orthodontics. The purpose of this work is to determine if there is an association between the stages of vertebral maturation and the stages of maturation of the midpalatal suture.
