Habilitación de sendero y diseño de programas de educación para el desarrollo sustentable para turistas con necesidades especiales en Parque Katalapi, Km 18, Carretera Austral, Región de Los Lagos

Abstract

Nuestro país presenta una decadencia de espacios naturales adaptados para el turismo accesible, así también programas de educación para el desarrollo sustentable para personas con necesidades especiales; por lo tanto, esta tesis trata de avanzar con respecto al conocimiento y los medios a utilizar para lograr igualdad de oportunidades entre los seres humanos. En la localidad de Pichiquillaipe, Región de los Lagos, zona de bosque templado lluvioso, se encuentra el parque de conservación privado Katalapi, destinado a investigaciones científicas y de educación ambiental. Dentro del parque, se seleccionó un sendero atractivo, de distancia moderada (900 metros) y que recorre gran parte de flora nativa de la zona. Así también, éste transita por espacios aptos para realizar actividades educativas ambientales. Teniendo en cuenta las posibilidades que nos brinda el tipo de ecosistema de la zona, se realizó una investigación para luego concretar una adaptación accesible al sendero, siendo ahora apto de ser transitado con menor dificultad. Conjuntamente se investigó y consultó sobre actividades de educación para el desarrollo sustentable al aire libre para personas ciegas. Con la información recaudada se construyó un diseño de educación ambiental y se llevo a cabo el día 7 de noviembre del 2009 a un grupo de personas pertenecientes a la Asociación de Ciegos de Osorno. Dándoles a conocer, sentir, vivir y comprobar las propiedades medicinales del bosque templado lluvioso.

In Chile´s natural areas there are few places that are well adapted for eco tourism as well as for educational programs for sustainable development for blind people. Therefore, this thesis will evaluate, improve and test a trail in the temperate forests so as to allow blind people to get in touch with the forest using alternative senses to sight, granting thus an equal opportunity to blind people Katalapi park is a private project located in the Carretera Austral, area of Pichiquillaipe, Los Lagos Region, corresponding to a temperate rainforest ecosystem, This park is destined for scientific investigations and environmental education. Within the park an attractive trail was selected considering its relative length (900 meters) with easy access to part of the endemic flora of the area. Moreover, it goes through suitable spaces to develop environmental educational activities. A research was developed taking in consideration the possibilities that the area gives. This research was followed by the modification and adaptation of the trail which was improved being now an adequate way to be followed with less difficulty. Jointly, it was investigated and consulted about educational activities for the sustainable development focusing on the needs of blind persons. With the gathered information an environmental educational program was built. On November 7th, 2009, a group of persons belonging to the “Asociación de Ciegos de Osorno” (Osorno´s Blind Association) tried the program. These persons had the opportunity to touch, taste, smell and learn about the characteristics of the template rainforest vegetation and, including some of the medical properties of the plants.
