Resumen
La presente investigación de Terapia Ocupacional, se enmarca en el
área de la salud mental. Tiene por objetivo el indagar las experiencias de
autonomía a través del desempeño de las actividades de la vida diaria
instrumentales de personas que residen en hogares protegidos de Playa Ancha
en la ciudad de Valparaíso. Para el desarrollo de esta investigación se
estableció una metodología cualitativa, considerando como instrumento de
recolección de datos la entrevista semi-estructurada. Los sujetos de
investigación son hombres y mujeres de la ciudad de Valparaíso, que poseen
un trastorno psiquiátrico severo y que han estado en algún periodo de sus vidas
institucionalizados en un hospital psiquiátrico. Para la interpretación de datos,
se utiliza el análisis por categorías, de las cuales se concluye que las
experiencias sugieren que los escenarios residenciales han mantenido el
modelo asimétrico y asistencial hacia las personas, interfiriendo en sus
procesos de transición hacia la autonomía y vida independiente.
The present investigation on occupational Therapy, which frames inside the mental health area, has for target the indagate of autonomy experiences that comes through the performance Instrumental Activities of daily living for people living in protected homes in Playa Ancha, located in the city of Valparaíso. For the development of this research work a qualitative methodology was employed, taking into account the semi-structured interview as an instrument for gathering data. The subjects in this research are men and women from Valparaíso that have a severe psychiatric mental disorder and that at any moment of their lives have been enrolled into a psychiatric hospital. For interpretation of data an analysis by category was used, from which it is concluded that the experiences of this people suggest an asymmetric and assisted model of treatment have been put in practice in this residences, interfering with their transitioning process to autonomy and independent life.
