The purpose of this research is to compare the effectiveness of two types of treatment on cervical musculature, in subjects who may preemption of forward head position. It's a type of quasi-experimental descriptive longitudinal study design. At study 49 student between 18 and 25 years old in the region of V al paraíso were presented, being selected 33 subjects. The final sample consisted of 27 subjects who were divided randomly into two groups (A and B = 13 subjects = 14 subjects). Group A was performed with muscle treatment, which was to strengthen and stretching the muscles. Group B underwent the same treatment altogether muscular manual treatment of ischemic compression therapy trigger points in upper trapeziuz and/or ecom. Both groups were evaluated in two instances by photogrammetry and digital algometry before and after the therapeutic intervention of 6 weeks. Photogrammetry results were analyzed with the software S.A.P.O in the case of ACV (cranio-vertebral angle). For the analysis ofthe data for the ACV the Kolmogorov-Smimov (KS) and then the Tof 2 sample test was performed. Data analysis pain threshold trigger point was performed with the rate of change variation, then the KS test and Mann-Whitney test was performed. Subjects in both groups showed a significant increase in the ACV between before and after treatment, but the A group increased more than the B group. The B group showed a significant increase in the pain threshold as opposed to A group. Treatment of trigger points in the upper trapezius and/or Ecom decreases the neck pain, but does not produce significant changes in the ACV, unlike an exercise program that produce a decrease in postural alteration of preemption of forward head position.
