In Chile, social issues have taken a bigger relevance as years go by, nowadays when decisions must be taken, these arise as a measure of support for the demand of necessities, therefore the Social Worker acts like the tool who tries to attack the origin of problems which affects people. The interest of this research is directed to the non-so-explored matter as education and to breaking the public stigma of this discipline, which says it’s only focus on sectors of greater vulnerability. There are very few sectors that have Social Workers who work constantly on solving problems that are present all the time; with the above, institutions that don’t count on this professional team must ask for external help, which could be base on that the main objective of this institutions are the academic formation and to prepare the student for facing the working world in the future. With the above, it’s necessary a research that encompasses the importance of the Social Worker in every kind of institution, without validating if it is public or private, but rather contemplates that the country itself, has social-economic problems that must be taken care by this professionals. This research corresponds to a mix study, mainly qualitative, realized in subsidized private and private educational institutions of three different communes from Santiago de Chile, performed between August 2016 and July 2017. The unit of analysis under study, corresponds to Teachers, Managers, Students and Parents of such educational institutions. Through semi-structured-interviews and surveys, was searched to understand the perspectives of these actors about the role a Social Workers performs in Chile.
