Diversos estudios nacionales e internacionales demuestran que los chilenos, a
medida que avanzan en edad, no adquieren gusto por la lectura. Bajo este panorama, el
siguiente artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación que tuvo por objetivo
desarrollar el hábito lector en estudiantes de tercero básico a partir de una serie de
actividades que les permitirán empoderarse de su rol como lector.
A través de la metodología de investigación -acción, se implementó un plan de
acción durante dos meses a nueve estudiantes de tercero básico, quienes fueron
seleccionadas por medio de la técnica de muestreo de variación máxima, a partir de los
resultados de una encuesta de goce lector. Además, para recopilar información se
realizaron entrevistas personales y grupos focales a las participantes de la investigación.
Los resultados obtenidos señalan que, para desarrollar hábitos lectores, es clave
contar con modelos lectores - en el hogar y escuela- que motiven el interés por la lectura
para que ésta se transforme en una actividad placentera. Además, al realizar actividades
de lectura alejadas de la obligatoriedad y de acuerdo a los intereses de las estudiantes, se
logra un mayor compromiso con la lectura.
Por último, la presente investigación y sus resultados dan cuenta de la necesidad
de generar en el aula instancias concretas de lectura en que los estudiantes descubran
que leer puede ser divertido, interesante y placentero si es que cuentan con un mediador
que los motive y guíe en el camino del goce lector.
Numerous national and intemational researchs reveal that Chileans, as they get older, do not acquire a pleasure for reading. Related to this situation, this article is written to presentan analysis research diagnosis and results of the reading habits process in 3rd grade students, through different strategies and activities in order to empower their strengths as young readers. Throughout the action-research process, a workplan was planned and implemented for two months in 9 students from 3rd grade, who were selected by the technique of sampling of maximum variation, from the results of a survey of enjoyment reader. Moreover, to collect information, personal interviews and focus groups were conducted on this research. The results obtained indicate, in order to develop reading habits, it is fundamental to have reading models - at home and at school - who motívate interest in rcading so that it becomes a pleasant activity. In addition to this, reading activities that are far from compulsory currículum framework and according to the interests of students, leads toa greater commitment to reading. Finally, this research and its results will present the need to generate specific reading moments in the classroom in which students discover the reading process can be fun, interesting and enjoyable if they have a mediator who motivates and guides them through a reader path.
