Resumen
La siguiente investigación busca indagar la importancia que tiene el capital cultural de los estudiantes en su desempeño escolar dentro de diversos contextos educativos. De acuerdo con la literatura existente, los estudiantes con mayor acceso a activos culturales, mayor estatus socioeconómico, conexión a internet y apoyo de los padres tienden a desarrollar mejores resultados de aprendizaje. Se diseñó una investigación con el fin de agregar evidencias a la luz del Efecto Mateo, y así encontrar posibles diferencias entre las dependencias educativas, teniendo en consideración que participaron 103 estudiantes del colegio 1 perteneciente a la municipalidad de Las Condes, mientras que 175 estudiantes participaron del Colegio 2 perteneciente a la comuna de Ñuñoa. Luego de contrastar ambos grupos escolares se observó que el tipo de colegio en conjunto con el capital cultural que poseen los estudiantes son directamente proporcionales, debido a que los estudiantes del Colegio 2 poseen más elementos a favor que enriquecen su capital cultural en beneficio de su escolaridad.
The following research looks for inquire about the importance of the student's cultural capital in their school performance in many educative contexts. In accordance with the existent literature, the students who have more access to cultural assets, more socieconomic status, internet conecction and parent support, tent to get better learning results. It has been designed an investigation with the purpose of add evidence, through the Mateo's Effect, and find possible differences between the educational establishments, having in consideration the fact that 103 students of school 1, that belongs to municipality of Las Condes and 175 students of school 2, that belongs to municipality of Ñuñoa have participated After comparing both schools gruops, beside the cultural capital that students have, are directly proportional, insimuch the students of School 2 had more elements y favor that enriches their students scolarship.
