Ítem Impact of focused tasks on the writing accuracy of EFL learners in a private University in Chile: a case study(Universidad Andrés Bello, 2014) Araya Herrera, Marta; Veas Fáundez, Candy; Facultad de Humanidades y Educación; Escuela de EducaciónThis study aims to demonstrate the impact that the Task Based Language Teaching approach has on the accuracy in writing production of a group of undergraduate university students. Two groups of students participated in this investigation. Both groups of students belong to health programs. In this university, students are requested to take four levels of English as mandatory subjects. At the moment of this intervention, these students were errolled in the level four of this English program. In order to achieve the objective different focused tasks were developed in a period of five classes of one hour and ten minutes. The findings of this investigation indicate that the intervention group presented an improvement in accuracy in the writing production adding one more precedent to the benefits that this approach has.
