    This document is an investigation about the reality of English education in Viña del Mar. It is a study based on the age in which students from Viña del Mar start learning English. The present plans and programs of the MINEDUC start at fifth grade elementary, but there are not guides for younger students and their teachers. This text shows how the age of students affects their English learning process, based on the Critical period theory. There is also an investigation that analyzes the amount of schools in Viña del Mar that start teaching English before fifth grade, and the opinion of English teachers from schools of different types of administration in our country.
