Ítem A methodological proposal to teach grammar to tenth grade students through games(Universidad Andrés Bello, 2010) Camacho Saavedra, María Fernanda; Vásquez Aguilar, Paulina; Greene Silva, Valentina; Sánchez Pérez, Patricia; Facultad de Humanidades y EducaciónThis seminar developed a new Methodological Proposal to Teach Grammar to Tenth Grade through Games. The research paper was done in two stages: Methodological Framework and Theoretical Framework. Throughout the first stage, a thorough study was made in order to analyze the implications that grammar had in the learning process of the second language, the most common methodologies used to teach English, and the several obstacles that second language learners tace. Furthermore, a detailed investigation of the sample group was undertaken in order to have a broader view with regard to their interests and motivations. Throughout the second stage, the methodological proposal was carried out by teaching three grammatical structures through non-conventional, didactic activities. A variety of games were employed throughout the grammatical unit taught. In addition, a survey was responded by the students before and after the methodological proposal was applied, an interview to the English teacher of the tenth grade, and a final test to evaluate the contents learnt. With regard to the sample group, a class of tenth grade students was chosen from Colegio Instituto Santa María located in Ñuñoa district.
