Ítem Factors that influence teachers' decisions on the implementation of communicative language teaching (CTL) in two schools in the Valparaíso región of Chile: A multiple case study(Universidad Andrés Bello, 2015) Campos Zazópulos, Estefanía; González Villalobos, Nicolás; Noble, Maureen; Facultad de Humanidades y Educación; Escuela de EducaciónCLT, better known as Communicative Language Teaching, is a methodological approach that has been explored by several studies around the world. This study seelcs to identify the factors that influence positively or negatively the implementation of CL T in two different schools in the V al paraíso region of Chile. The nature of this study is qualitative research and the data collection methods are based on classroom observations and semi structured interviews. The participants are six EFL teachers from two different subsidize schools. The fmdings ofthis study revealed several factors that influence the implementation of CLT in the Chilean context such as teachers' workload, class size, and teachers' beliefs, among others. Also, the study provides sorne recommendations based on the findings for future implementation of CLT in EFL classrooms.
