Ítem HEMATOLOGICAL AND SERUM CHEMISTRY REFERENCE VALUES OF CAPTIVE BLACK-CHESTED BUZZARD EAGLE (GERANOETUS MELANOLEUCUS)(Neotropical Ornithological Society, 2023) Doussang, D.; Palma, Cristina; Grandon-Ojeda, Alexandra; Moreno, Lucila; Zambrano, Brayan; Pavez, Eduardo; Troncoso, Ignacio; Gonzalez-Acuña, Daniel30 captive Black-chested Buzzard-Eagles Geranoaetus melanoleucus from the Raptors Rehabilitation Center of the Union of Ornithologists of Chile were used to determine blood reference values. Packed cell volume (PCV), total protein plasma (TPP), and total and differential leukocyte counts were measured. Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), creatine kinase (CK), creatinine (CRE), calcium (Ca), inorganic phosphorus (P) and uric acid (UA) were analyzed. No significant differences were found between sexes (P> 0.05). No blood parasites were found. The results obtained from this study establish a baseline for hematological and serum biochemistry parameters for the Black-chested Buzzard-Eagles. © 2023 Neotropical Ornithological Society. The study was carried out by conducting a quantitative experimental research Study; which consisted on the application of faur types of pre-test and post-test to ali the participants. In addition to the tests, an intervention was made far the intervention group. Furthermore, the experiment was conducted in two elementary grades from a Santiago Centro school. One grade was considered as control group and the other as intervention group; both groups played the role of sample far this research study. The intervention was carried out in faur weeks and it included pre-test, intervention regarding the use of authentic material and task-based activities, in addition to the post-test.
