dc.description.abstractIntroducción: En este trabajo de investigación nos enfocamos en investigar y comprobar si hay concordancia entre los métodos existentes para el registro de la dimensión vertical utilizando y comparando el método radiográfico (cefalométrico- análisis de Ricketts), método clínico (método convencional) y el método del craneómetro de Knebelman. Objetivo: Validar la efectividad de los diferentes métodos de obtención de dimensión vertical. Materiales y Métodos: La muestra estudiada consistió en 30 pacientes, entre 50 y 80 años de edad, desdentados totales (bimaxilares o unimaxilares) libres patologías articulares. Se realizó un estudio comparativo de la dimensión vertical, la cual fue tomada primeramente con el método clínico, luego se tomaron teleradiografías laterales a las cuales se les realizó el trazado del ángulo altura facial inferior del análisis de Ricketts y posteriormente se realizaron las mediciones con el craneómetro de Knebelman. Resultados: Estos arrojaron que existe una coincidencia exacta entre el método radiográfico y el método del craneómetro de Knebelman, a diferencia del método convencional donde hay un 76,6% de coincidencias con los otros métodos Conclusión: 1. No existen diferencias significativas entre el método radiográfico y el método del craneómetro de Knebelman. 2. Existen diferencias significativas entre el método convencional y los métodos cefalométrico y craneómetro de Knebelman. 3. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos se valida la efectividad del método radiográfico y craneométrico frente al método convencional, no obstante el alto porcentaje de coincidencia obtenido con el método convencional lo convierte en este estudio en un método viable y efectivo al momento de realizar toma de registro para DVO.es
dc.description.abstractlntroduction: In this investigation, we focus ourselves in verifying if there is conformity between the existing methods for the record of the vertical dimension using and comparing the radiographic method (cefalométric- Ricketts's analysis), clinical method (conventional method) and the method of Knebelman'scraniometer. Objective: To validate the efficiency of the different methods of obtaining vertical dimension. Materials and Methods: The studied sample consisted of 30 patients, between 50 and 80 years of age, completely toothless (bimaxilar or unimaxilar) free of joint pathologies. There was realized a comparative study of the vertical dimension, which was taken primarily by the clinical method, then we take a lateralX-ray photography to which they do the tracing of the low facial height angle of Ricketts analysis and later the measurements were realized by Knebelman'scraniometer. Results: these threw that an exact coincidence exists between the radiographic method and the method of Knebelman'scraniometer, unlike the conventional method where there is 76, 6 % of coincidences with other methods. Conclusions: 1. Do not exist significant differences between the radiographic method and the method of Knebelman'scraneometro. 2. Exist significant differences between the conventional method and the other two methods. 3. In agreement with the obtained results validated the efficiency of the radiographic method and craniometer opposite to the conventional method, nevertheless, the high percentage of coincidence obtained with the conventional method converts it into this study into a viable and effective method to the moment to register the DVO.
