    The influence of the socio-cultural context in second languague learning : some phonetic traits.

    The effect of the socio cultural context of students on their education is an issue on which there is general disagreement. This situation is particularly true when it comes to the importance of the social background in second language leaming. This non-experimental, descriptive study analyzes the role that the background of students from deprived soci~ultural contexts plays in the acquisition of their first language (Spanish), and the leaming of a second language (English). This research explores certain phonetic traits that are influenced by the students' background and social dialect.
