The purpose of this systematic review is to synthesize the evidence on the effectiveness of manual techniques in dysfunctions associated with upper limb pathologies. Randomized clinical trials about manual therapy modalities published between 2010 and 2020 were searched in PubMed, PEDro, CINAHL and gray literature databases. All clinical trials included were assessed by their methodological quality by PEDro scale. A total of 28 randomized clinical trials were included. Regarding the manual therapy treatment for upper limb injuries, it became very useful for dysfunctions of pain, functionality, ROM and muscle strength, especially in the management of subacromial impingement pathologies of the shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome, improving statistically significant pain and functionality. In long terms there is no difference between Manual therapy and other more invasive modalities. There is a great variability in evaluation and intervention methods, that make hard to generate more representative results, impacting in their clinical relevance.
