This research is carried out in the commune of Talcahuano in the Biobío Region, Chile, specifically in the sector of the Port of Talcahuano. This commune stands out for being mainly industrial-fishing, being one of the main ports of Chile, so its greatest strengths go hand in hand with the marine gastronomy and local trade, however, Talcahuano has great attributes related to tourism, such as the nature that surrounds it, the history that is sometimes forgotten and natural events of great impact as the last earthquake and tsunami experienced in February 2010. The main purpose of this research is to carry out a new Disaster Tourism route in the Port of Talcahuano to recall its history, important milestones and the experiences that took place during the natural disaster. To achieve this research, a mixed approach methodology is used, that is to say, it has qualitative and quantitative aspects throughout its development, it is non-experimental at the time of obtaining its results and it has a descriptive scope, that is to say, it describes qualities and characteristics, in this case, of the commune of Talcahuano. The research is based on a sample size, that is, a significant portion of the population that meets the characteristics of this research. To obtain the results, the data collection method is, first, through an interview with the local community of the Port of Talcahuano and observation sheets of tourism companies in the commune to identify the existing tourism offer and competition, second, through a survey to conduct a market study of potential customers and their expectations, and third, using quotes and interviews with different tour operators to develop a description of the operating system and a financial study of the product and thus analyze its economic viability in the market.
