The main purpose of this research is to determine the water demand in pre-mixed concrete of the Santa Laura Enterprise. The most relevant activities and procedures that affect the hydrological resource during the execution and production of concrete will be analyzed, studied and investigated. Because of the high demand of concrete presented in the plant, the pre-mixed dosage and the productive process, this research will be based on one of the concrete components. The main objective of this research is to accomplish the technical specifications, which are related to its scale, mechanical strength to compression, maximum size of aggregates and the concrete cone. An incorrect dosage of this product produces damage in the concrete mechanical strength, which is the main variable of an engineer during the decisions making for the design of the concrete mixture. This research will present certain elements that affect the water demand, identifying first the main reasons and explaining each of them specifically for both external elements and instruments use in order to prepare the concrete mixture and the raw material that constitute the dosage for the concrete production, which are coarse and fine aggregates, concrete, water and additives (such as reducers, retardants, air incorporator, among others). Besides, the conditions of the raw material stored within Santa Laura Enterprise will be analyzed. Then, the fulfillment of the mechanical strength of each dosage specified in the technical report of the concrete plant will be validated through tests. Finally, the methodology of this research will be based through experimental tests that will determine and correct optimally the dosages of each group of aggregates involved in the construction demand based on the client’s needs and requirements.
