Objective: To determine the effectiveness of parental interventions aimed at promoting sexual and affective health between parents and children aged 11 to 14 years. Method: Narrative review in which a search was carried out between 2011 and 2021 in the following databases: Web of Science, Eric, Scopus and PubMed in which the following terms were selected: "Caregivers", "Fathers and mothers", "Sexual health intervention", "Communication skills", "Affective skills" and their combinations, obtaining 8 articles. Results: In general, the interventions presented mostly female participants, the communication variable was repeated and those that were more effective maintained a minimum time of 5 hours of intervention with a follow-up of 3 to 12 months after the end of the intervention. Conclusion: It is concluded that the most effective interventions are those that include communication, motivation and information modules, with a minimum duration of 5 hours and a follow-up of 1 to 12 months. Since the evidence shows that fathers, mothers or caregivers can influence the development of the sexual health of their adolescent children mainly through communication, they are considered as protective factors.
