a 5 a diversos enunciados.
Objective: Evaluate the impact of digital applications on the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan in people seen at the UNAB dental clinic during the year 2022. Materials and Methods: An experimental study was conducted with a control group, probabilistic cluster sampling. The sample size was 30 people, 15 for the control group and 15 for the experimental group, from the dental clinic of the Universidad Andrés Bello, Santiago, to whom the intervention was randomly assigned. The intervention group, made up of 15 patients, had their diagnosis and treatment plan explained to them verbally and through the use of a digital application. The control group of 15 people had their diagnosis and treatment plan explained to them using the conventional method, i.e. verbally in a standardized consultation. The digital application has certain characteristics, such as audio, video and images, according to the corresponding treatment plan. The way to evaluate this understanding was done through a test of 7 simple questions with alternatives and understandable to the patient. The results were then compared and statistically analyzed. Results: The results reflected a greater understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan by the patients. The statistical test showed statistically significant differences, which is interpreted as an advantage of using this application when it is necessary to explain diagnostic procedures and treatment plans in dental care. Conclusions: The use of the digital application is a good tool to improve the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment plan, as well as to improve the patient's commitment to it
