el Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA).
Background: Manual therapy encompasses various therapeutic techniques performed with the hands, with osteopathy and chiropractic being specific approaches. In this sense, osteopathy aims to balance the body holistically, while chiropractic focuses on spinal adjustments to correct postural problems and relieve pain. In this sense, both are part of conventional and complementary medicine, where the professional's hands are used as a work tool. General objective: To know the effect of spinal chiropractic techniques as treatment techniques on acute low back pain in adults aged 18 to 59 years. Method: The design of this study corresponds to a systematic review guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Results: Early diagnosis is crucial to prevent future disabilities and improve quality of life. Both the combination of chiropractic techniques and conventional treatment, as well as patients expressing their preferences in the treatment plan, can have positive results in terms of acute low back pain. In this sense, preventive strategies, especially in chiropractic, benefit patients by keeping them active. Conclusion: In relation to the studies reviewed and presented above, it is possible to determine that the effects of spinal chiropractic techniques in conjunction with other types of interventions, such as physiotherapy and/or physical exercise, have a positive effect on low back pain. acute in adults aged 18 to 59 years, not chiropractic intervention alone.
