An early fitting of hearing aids in children with hearing loss is essential for the development of the child, not only to hear, but to understand the world around hím, achieve normal language development, facilítate their inclusion in the school system, and toan unfolding appropríate in their everyday environments. lt is important to determine which factors are intervening in use, adherence that children have to the treatment, knowing if these provide the expected benefits and if these provide to improve the quality of life for users. The Parents' Evaluation of Aural/Oral Performance of Children (PEACH) test was developed by Teresa Ching Mandy Hill in Australia in 2005, to evaluate the effectiveness in the amplification of infants and children was used in this study hearing disorders, making systematic use of the comments from parents. For this study a sample of 25 Children and Youth users between 3 to 19 years old, diagnosed with hearing loss, belonging to the National Health Fund (FONASA) and attending the pediatric hospital Dr. Luis Calvo Mackenna was considered. The results show that most children show a high degree of satisfaction. Reveals that the headphones have a better performance in quiet situations compared to noise situations, and those children who show greater satisfaction and greater adherence to the headphones are suffering from sensorineural hearing loss. Finally, according to the degree of severity of hearing loss you have more grip, with the use of hearing aids, hearing loss are mild and moderate. Within the limitations of this study is possible to mention that there are no normative data is not considered the perception of the child in the implementation of the survey. lt is hoped that future research will use the PEACH to have data with which to compare the various aspects that this measure and objectify performance headset.
