Objetivo: Identificar principales causas de la baja participación de niñas en las
clases de Educación Física de los cursos de tercero medio en una muestra de
cuatro colegios particulares subvencionados pertenecientes a la Corporación
Educacional del Arzobispado de Santiago (CEAS).
Método: Se realizaron análisis descriptivos y comparativos, en una muestra de
150 alumnas elegidas par medio del muestreo no probabilístico intencional para
determinar las principales causas de la baja participación de las niñas en los
cursos de tercero medio de cuatro colegios pertenecientes a CEAS. Se aplicó
una encuesta de percepción compuesta de 28 afirmaciones apartadas en cuatro
dimensiones; Actividad en las clases, Desempeño Docente, Infraestructura del
colegio e Implementos deportivos.
Resultados: Más del 80% de las niñas estuvieron "De acuerdo" con que los
primeros días de menstruación es incómodo y en ocasiones doloroso participar en
clases de E.F. Con respecto al desempeño docente, la mayoría de las alumnas
están de acuerdo que el Desempeño Docente en general es bueno, rechazando
estas afirmaciones y dejando en evidencia que no es esta una causa principal de
baja participación en clases de E.F. En cambio más del 60% de las niñas afirma
que les incomoda cambiarse de ropa y ducharse frente a sus compañeras en el
camarín. Más del 95% de las niñas afirman estar "Muy de acuerdo" y "De acuerdo"
con que las duchas del camarín deben tener puertas. Más del 90% de las niñas
coincide estar "Muy de acuerdo" y "De acuerdo" con la afirmación orientada a que
la cantidad del material de E.F. debe ser igual o superior a la cantidad de
estudiantes.
Conclusiones: Las causas principales de baja participación en las clases de E.F.
son las siguientes, es incómodo cambiarse de ropa cuando no hay un espacio
privado para cada niña, las duchas deben tener puerta para mayor privacidad y la
cantidad de material debe ser igual a la cantidad de estudiantes, para una mayor
motivación.
Objective: to identify the main reasons of the low participation of the girls in physical education classes in 11th grades in semi-private schools belonging to the Corporación Educacional del Arzobispado de Santiago (CEAS). Method: Descriptive and comparative analysis in 150 girls' sample. It was selected by non-probabilistic intentional sampling to settle the main reasons of the low participation of the girls in 11th grades in four schools belonging to CEAS. A perception survey consists in 28 statements divided in 4 sections; class activity, teacher's performance, school's facilities and sports equipment. Results: more than 80% of the surveyed girls said "agree" with the first days of the period is awkward and in some opportunities is painful to participate in physical education classes. According to teachers' performance most of the surveyed girls' pointed out that is "good", reject these statements and leaving in evidence that is not a main reason of the low participation of the girls in PE classes. On the other hand, more than 60% of the surveyed students pointed out is difficult to change clothes and take a shower in front of their classmates inside the changing rooms. More than 95% of the surveyed girls pointed out "strongly agree" and "agree" that showers in the changing rooms must have doors. More than 90% of the surveyed students said "strongly agree" and "agree" with the statement focused on the number of PE equipment must be the same or more than students' number. Conclusions: The main reasons of the low participation of the girls in PE classes are the followings: It is difficult to participate, to change clothes when there is not a closer place to each girl, the showers must have a door to give more privacy and the number of the sports equipment must be the same according to the number of the students it is necessary to give more motivation to the girls.
