lectura.
Getting boys and girls to develop a reading habit is one of the main tasks that many educational establishments have. However, achieving it is a goal that is not always achieved, so it often becomes a challenge. At the same time, and without having greater knowledge, many families carry out activities with the intention that their sons and daughters can develop this taste for reading. This is how teachers recognize some methodological proposals that exist in this regard. But what about the work that families do at home to promote reading? Is this known and valued by schools? This research is part of a qualitative Empirical Project that seeks to know the perception of families regarding the activities they carry out to promote reading habits in their sons and daughters through a semi-structured interview applied to nine parents of children who They attend between the fourth and seventh grade in municipalized schools in the Valparaíso region. The results indicate that the parents value that their children acquire reading habits, for which they encourage them from an early age with different activities that they carry out as a family, one of the main factors involved being the time they spend to promote reading habits.
