In the last 100 years, the world population and food production have experienced a significant increase, causing excesses in industries and promoting global warming. This situation has caused a shortage of water resources and progressively worsened soil quality, directly altering the availability of farmland and causing food deprivation, affecting more than 879 million people in the world. Consequently, the livestock industry has experienced significant increases in its demand, generating significant amounts of waste from the slaughter process, with bovine blood being one of the most relevant. The use of biotechnological tools could reduce the damage caused by climate change and reduce the pollution generated by the livestock industry. Vitanov Biotech, a biotechnology company that was born to develop products with high R&D content, influenced by the circular economy and that has the mission of using waste as raw material, seeks to innovate through 2 biotechnological byproducts from bovine blood. A commercial biostimulant and hydrogel for agricultural use are presented as the basis of this project, which will improve plant crops and reduce the use of water for irrigation. Within this title report, the Canvas business model was carried out, a strategic tool that allowed us to document and visualize the value proposition, infrastructure, customers, company finances and products. Low-resolution prototypes were developed for both products, challenging the biostimulant in cultures of Lactuca sativa and producing hydrogel from bovine albumin. We need to carry out three key activities to achieve commercial validation, being consistent with the R&D objectives. These activities correspond to the obtaining and optimization of the biostimulant component, the obtaining of the hydrogel component and the functional tests to be carried out in the laboratory and field of both by-products. The R&D strategy will begin using as base methodologies already described in the literature, which will be standardized and subsequently adapted to the production process, to finally be implemented in our company. To date, applications for CORFO subsidies have been made; Crea y Valida and Innova region, to be able to develop the project, optimize the products and validate them commercially.
