Due to in Chile not exist definite and complete procedure, and that the local manufacturers of products for waterproofing do not mention to Chilean rule but to the ASTM or DIN; in 3 we will mention the most important materials to waterproof and the requirements that must expire. For this we will base on the rule before notable. In general in building there can be defined some sectors, which it is necessary to protect, understanding this way everything relative to passable terraces, flat, underground roofs, foundations, window boxes, water tanks, baths and kitchens. The principal quality that it is required to a waterproof system is the estanqueidad to the water, however this one is not the only factor that affects in his behavior, in the majority of the cases another type of requirements take also great importance in 4.
