Structures are designed, calculated and built to satisfy certain minimum requirements of safety, functionality, service and aesthetics during a certain period of time, which is called useful life, without unexpected maintenance and/or repair costs. However, there are certain parameters in the service conditions that can limit the useful life of structures. Based on the above, this document presents the analysis of a particular type of structures, which are indoor swimming pools, where the aggressiveness of the internal environment generates the necessary conditions for corrosion to develop rapidly, which causes various deteriorations in the structure, which can eventually be very dangerous when coinciding with external events, such as earthquakes, wind loads, etc. For the development of this research, 2 structures located in the Metropolitan region are studied, with elements of similar materiality, with the main difference in the variation of their climatic parameters, i.e., relative humidity (RH) and temperature (TĀ°). Both structures are inspected in order to determine their condition, establishing the common aspects and differences based on the damages that can be detected. In addition, measurements of climatic parameters (internal and external) are extracted, together with zinc coating thicknesses, to establish the aggressiveness of the environment and how influential it is for the development of corrosion in the elements of these structures.
