dc.description.abstractBased on the report of the “United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS 2019” and the low adherence to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in risk populations in Chile since its implementation in 2019, a thought on the benefits that new technologies such as telemedicine currently have and how this influences access and adherence to therapy is presented, according to some of the current technological strategies implemented in the United States. On the other hand, Chile proposes telemedicine and telehealth guidelines, these are not aimed at improving access to therapy in risk groups. It proposed that extending telemedicine services to those who require PrEP could be beneficial in increasing adherence and access, also in decreasing HIV infections. Likewise, other countries in the region could use these innovations to get the same objective. © 2022, Publicacion de la Asociacion Salud, Ciencia y Tecnologia. All rights reserved.es
