dc.description.abstractLas cefaleas son un problema a nivel mundial el cual se ha intentado resolver con métodos farmacológicos o procedimientos médicos realizados en hospitales. Las cefaleas han sido reconocidas en dos grandes grupos: primarias y secundarias. Dentro de las cefaleas secundarias, se encuentra la cefalea cervicogénica que presenta este nombre debido a que su origen se encuentra a nivel de la columna cervical, en cambio la migraña y cefalea tensional, que son cefaleas primarias, no se relaciona directamente con ella. Con el paso de los años se ha encontrado relación neurofisiológica entre las cefaleas y la columna cervical, siendo una de las posibles causas de ellas. Debido a esta relación, es que el test de flexión – rotación se utiliza para diagnosticar de manera complementaria una cefalea cervicogénica. Este test evalúa la movilidad articular de la columna cervical alta, esto quiere decir del segmento C1 – C2. Pero, ¿qué pasaría si la migraña y cefalea tensional tuvieran una relación directa con el estado funcional de la columna cervical alta? Si esto fuera así, las personas con diagnósticos de cefaleas primarias (migraña – cefalea tensional) o secundarias (cefalea cervicogénica) podrían acceder a una evaluación y tratamiento completo y específico, ajustado a cada persona con este tipo de patología, el cual sería menos invasivo y con un bajo costo para solucionarlo. Esta solución podría ser la Terapia Manual Ortopédica que cumple con todas las características descritas anteriormente.
dc.description.abstractHeadaches are a worldwide problem that has been tried to solve with pharmacological methods or medical procedures performed in hospitals. Headaches have been recognized in two large groups: primary and secondary. Within the secondary headaches, there is the cervicogenic headache that presents this name because its origin is at the level of the cervical spine, however migraine and tension – type headache, which are primary headaches, is not directly related to it. Over the years, a neurophysiological relationship has been found between the headaches and the cervical spine, being one of the possible causes of them. Due to this relationship, the flexion - rotation test is used to diagnose a cervicogenic headache in a complementary way. This test evaluates the articular mobility of the upper cervical spine, this means the C1 - C2 segment. But, ¿what if migraine and tension – type headache had a direct relationship with the functional state of the upper cervical spine? If this were so, people with diagnoses of primary headache (migraine – tension – type headache) or secondary (cervicogenic headache) could access a full and specific evaluation and treatment, adjusted to each person with this type of pathology, which would be less invasive and with a low cost to solve it. This solution could be Orthopedic Manual Therapy that meets all the characteristics described above.en
