El uso de un Peeling químico en Chile, no está del todo claro, debido a que
no existe una clasificación objetiva de este tratamiento estético. Se requiere
claridad en su área de empleo (área médica / área cosmética) para que de
esta manera su utilización sea óptima para el paciente.
Se necesita estandarizar con mayor precisión la información disponible para
así clasificar el uso de uno u otro ingrediente activo cosmético y de acuerdo a
su respectiva concentración, determinar si es un producto cosmético o
dispositivo médico. También se deben considerar otros criterios como:
anamnesis del paciente, el uso de un solo activo, o mezcla de estos y asegurar
que la aplicación sea óptima para los requerimientos de la sesión y evitar los
posibles efectos secundarios que se producen en este tipo de tratamiento
estético. Lo importante siempre es garantizar la seguridad al paciente.
El objetivo del proyecto es definir una clasificación de Peeling químico, para
emplear el correcto régimen de control aplicable para el registro sanitario y
consecuente autorización de uso de peeling químico con finalidad estética en
el Instituto de Salud Pública de Chile (ISP).
La metodología se basará en la recopilación de datos respecto a la clasificación
regulatoria de los peeling químicos de agencias regulatorias de tres países:
Estados Unidos, Corea del Sur y España. A partir de esto, se realizará un estudio
cualitativo - comparativo y de esta manera, lograr definir en qué área (uso médico
o cosmético), podría ser clasificado y utilizado en Chile.
The use of a chemical peel in Chile is not entirely clear, because there is no objective classification of this aesthetic treatment. Clarity is required in its area of employment (medical area / cosmetic area) so that in this way its use is optimal for the patient. The available information needs to be standardized with greater precision in order to classify the use of one or another cosmetic active ingredient and, according to its respective concentration, determine whether it is a cosmetic product or medical device. Other criteria should also be considered, such as: anamnesis of the patient, the use of a single active ingredient, or a mixture of these, and ensure that the application is optimal for the requirements of the session and avoid the possible side effects that occur in this type of aesthetic treatment. The important issue is always to guarantee patient safety. The objective of the project is to define a classification of chemical peeling to use the correct applicable control regime for the sanitary registration and consequent authorization for the use of chemical peeling for aesthetic purposes at the Institute of Public Health of Chile (ISP). The methodology will be based on the recollection of data regarding the regulatory classification of chemical peels from three countries regulatory agencies; United States, South Korea and Spain. Based on this, a qualitativecomparative study will be carried out and in this way, to be able to define in which area (medical or cosmetic use), it could be classified and used in Chile.
