Currently the population has a life expectancy equal to over 60 years and it is estimated that by 2050 this age group will reach 2,000 million. In this context and due to the characteristics and changes associated with the aging process, it is important to know the quality of life (CV) with which this stage is lived, which includes basic areas of physical, social, mental and emotional health, these being last two, key components in the well-being of the elderly. Objective: To determine how to influence the quality of life related to health (CVRS) in the risk of depression in a sample of adults aged 65 - 75 years, belonging to the Community Center for Family Health (CECOSF) Libertad Gaete of the health service Talcahuano The following study is a quantitative approach of correlational scope, with a non-experimental transversal design. The sample was constituted by seniors between 65 and 75 years old, belonging to the CECOSF '' Libertad Gaete '' of Talcahuano, determined by non-probabilistic selection based on convenience criteria of inclusion and exclusion. There is a difference in the CVRS and depression parameters where in both sexes there is a greater value in the mental health component (CSM) than in the physical health component (CSF), accentuating in women, but not in the risk of depression according to the Yesavage scale , where women have a higher mean in relation to men. There is a correlation between the perception of physical and mental health with the level of risk of depression in men and women. There is a relationship between the risk of depression and the quality of life of the subjects studied.
