Immediate Dentin Sealing consists of the application of a filled adhesive evenly around the freshly cut dentin once the preparation is complete. This allows the prepolymerization of the dentin-adhesive bond, beginning a bond of Higher quality leads to stress-free restorations. The objective of this review was to evaluate the SDI prior to endodontic treatment. By doing this technique prior to a root canal, the term SDI is renamed immediate endodontic sealing (IES component in English). A search was carried out since 2015 in English and Spanish in Medline through Pubmed and Springer, where the strategy "Immediate dentin seal, Mechanical AND Restorative Dentistry" was applied for all searches. The search reported 150 studies of which 1 met the eligibility criteria, it was possible to conclude that the SDI applied in IES seems to emulate the action of the dentinenamel junction, sealing the dentin from the moment of its exposure in the preparation, whose results were able to protect the dentinal tubules, providing protection to the recently cut dentin against irritating agents.
