dc.description.abstractThe following research was made with the purpose of exploring the field of giftedness and what strategies might a teacher of EFL use at a high school level to fulfill the educational needs of gifted students. The general objective of this research was to provide sorne teaching strategies to <leal with gifted students in an EFL classroom environment at high school level, using, comparing and contrasting theories of Francoise Gagné, Joseph Renzulli, Joan Freeman and Robert Stemberg. The methodology used was action research in this qualitative research by applying different tests of identification of giftedness such as Raven test and Gardner's multiple intelligence test, additionally two modified lesson plans were applied which included different strategies. After applying different strategies and analyzing the lesson plans the results showed that the most suitable strategies to be used with the participant were enrichment and information.es
dc.description.abstractLa siguiente investigación fue creada con el propósito de explorar el campo de la superdotación y cuales estrategias podrían ser utilizadas por los profesores de inglés como lengua extranjera en educación media, para satisfacer las necesidades educacionales de los alumnos superdotados. El objetivo general de esta investigación es proveer algunas estrategias de enseñanza para lidiar con alumnos superdotados en una clase de inglés como idioma extranjero a nivel de enseñanza media, usando, comparando y contrastando teorías de Franc;oise Gagné, Joseph Renzulli, Joan Freeman and Robert Stemberg. La metodología usada fue investigación acción en esta investigación cualitativa, aplicando diferentes pruebas para la identificación de superdotados, pruebas como el test de Raven y el test de las inteligencias múltiples de Gardner; adicionalmente dos planificaciones modificadas fueron aplicadas incluyendo las diferentes estrategias. Luego de aplicar las diferentes estrategias y analizar las planificaciones, los resultados mostraron que las estrategias más apropiadas para ser utilizadas con el participante son enriquecimiento (Enrichment) e información (Information).
