The focus of the present research is the continuous reflection around the social perception that nowadays predominates in older people and how they go through their own aging process. Around this issue, a route is made through the research and reflections from authors by means of a qualitative research, from a critical approach by analyzing the social perceptions through the elaboration and application of a semi-structured interview to professionals that are currently working on programs specialized in attending older people that are institutionalized. Finally, between the most significant conclusions in the discourses analysis; it was found that the negative vision against the aging process has a multifactorial and transgenerational character, which convert on their own present stereotypes about this stage in life that are arranged in the society.
