Introduction: Currently, there are methods for evaluation of plantar load/pressure for standing and walking, e.g. pedometers, plantar pressure mats and plantar pressure recording templates. While these devices record, analyze data from evaluated users and provide information to the practitioner, it is the laboratory context that limits their applicability in the clinic and daily treatment, given the influence of different variables. Objective: To demonstrate the real time measurement capacity of the plantar load prototype, with respect to independent weight loads during standing and walking. Methodology: The prototype creating process is based on the "Design Thinking" (creative development) methodology, which consists of five stages that considers various tools for the collection of information and generation of ideas. Within the methodologies mostly used for the agile development area, "Design Thinking" shows more versatility. Results: For the purposes of this research, modifications were made to the device to adapt it to the established requirements. However, the partial data and visual results provided too little information to be interpreted, so the objectives initially proposed are not fully met. Conclusions: The partial results indicate that, in order to support the use of this prototype, further evaluations with their corresponding adjustments and/or modifications are required. The adaptability of this device presents a window of opportunity both for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment and for corroborating a diagnostic hypothesis or future research, whether in treatment centers or in the person's actual context.
