dc.description.abstractDue to the sanitary emergency related to COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, the educational system started functioning and moved from the traditional face-to face instruction to a new format of teaching via online to secure students, teachers, and the whole educational community. This challenge required starting work on different aspects regarding the implementation of online instruction in distinct educative communities and realities, providing continuity to the curriculum, where Chile was not the exception. This thesis sought to explore the perceptions of EFL teachers on the effectiveness of the online instruction modality in terms of its advantages and disadvantages encountered by them. In the light of this, qualitative research was conducted in order to disclose the perception of six teachers of English (participants) who teach in public and subsidized schools. To obtain or collet data, a semi structure interview was administered to participants. The findings of this study revealed that despite the disadvantages found in data, there was effectiveness in the implementation of online instruction due to participants were resilient facing challenges and difficulties when facing this adopted teaching model.es
dc.description.abstractDebido a la emergencia sanitaria relacionada al COVID-19 a nivel mundial, el sistema educativo fue relegado a comenzar su funcionamiento y mudarse desde el modelo tradicional de enseñanza, la cual es clases presenciales, a un modelo de enseñanza online para salvaguardar a los estudiantes ,profesores y la comunidad educativa en general. Este desafío demandó el comenzar a trabajar en distintos aspectos respecto a la implementación de la enseñanza online en diferentes comunidades y realidades educativas, dando continuidad al currículo, donde Chile no fue la excepción. La presente tesis tiene por objeto explorar las percepciones de profesores de Ingles como lengua extranjera hacia la efectividad del método de enseñanza online, en términos de conocer ventajas y desventajas del mencionado método. Para conocer esto, una investigación cualitativa fue conducida para descubrir y revelar la percepción de seis profesores( participantes),que enseñan en escuelas publicas y subsidiadas. Para obtener los datos, una entrevista semiestructurada fue llevada a cabo con los participantes. Los hallazgos de este estudio develaron que a pesar de las desventajas encontradas desde la muestra en relación a la efectividad del modelo online de enseñanza, hubo efectividad del enfoque debido a la resiliencia que los participantes tuvieron frente al trabajo, en condiciones desafiantes y difíciles al momento de implementar la modalidad de instrucción en línea.es
