Mining cargo and transport operations are the processes that generate the most costs, due to the high uncertainties that exist, that is why not having a good quality plan in the different activities generate mistakes, delays and failures of all kinds. All these setbacks translate into less production and more expenses, which is why this project seeks to improve production, relying on techniques that facilitate planning, analysis and decision-making. • What problems are detected? There are many companies that belong to the big mining, that have deficiencies in the production levels, which prevent them to achieve an optimal production, where their main causes are given by a monitoring of low quality in the processes of Cargo and transport, together with the various operational problems generated by the use of inadequate equipment. Other problems are: ➢ Truck drivers who are expected to be traveling when they are stopped or unloading material in the wrong places. ➢ Drivers using routes that are not the most optimal or the shortest. ➢ Dilution (mineral to the dump and ballast to the crushing) ➢ High fuel cost. ➢ Stopped or glued trucks. ➢ Repairs of high-cost machinery. • What is the Project? The project consists of collecting information from mining companies using optimization techniques that are currently in operation and then comparing them according to the different contexts existing in mining, focusing on the really important problems and causes that will subsequently be analyzed in a logical and systematic way. • Why will the Project work? This project will work because it is expected to identify where it is important to focus and identify the key variables that affect the search for improved performance.
